my name is
Mahsa, a published poet, filmmaker, critic, and architect. I was awarded my PhD for interdisciplinary research on architecture, film, and philosophy that questions the status quo of human perception. As an academic, I have been teaching architecture history and theory at UNSW since 2018. I am one of the authors of The Theatre Times, a non-partisan, global theatre portal. Recently, I was offered an artist residency in Berlin to develop and produce my docudrama, “Poetic Suicide”. I have also completed my first non-fiction book, Haptic Visuality in Arts. Previously, I engaged with the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), National Art School (NAS), and Carriageworks as a literary curator’s assistant.
my Story
Since the tender age of seven, I have woven words into poetry, yet lacked the courage to declare myself a poet, burdened by my family’s disregard for the arts and artists. For years, I adhered to the prescribed path, conforming to their expectations until the age of thirty-three. Eventually, the weariness of living a life that was not truly mine became unbearable. I grew tired of the relentless pursuit of perfection, burdened by a heavy luggage of unpublished poems and stories, and found myself excelling in fields that held no true interest for me.

Welcome to a realm where creativity flourishes in three distinct yet harmonious parts: essays, poetry, and exhibitions. Each section of this website showcases the works I have accomplished in these diverse areas, reflecting my journey and passions.
Essay:
In this section, you will find my essays, written both in Farsi and English, delving into various subjects that have captured my intellectual curiosity. These essays are a testament to my academic pursuits and critical reflections, offering insights and thought-provoking perspectives.
Poetry:
Here lies the heart of my artistic expression. My poems, crafted in Farsi and English, reveal the depth of my emotions and the beauty of my imagination. Recently, I have embarked on an intriguing experiment with Open AI’s translation of my Farsi poems, allowing a new layer of interpretation and accessibility. You can explore this unique fusion of technology and art in the poetry section.
